"Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction." -Ronald Reagan

Energy and Oil

Global demand for oil is increasing while the supply is constrained to a restricted market.  With China and India in the midst of their industrial revolutions and the weak value of the dollar, the search for alternative energies is vital for the United States economy and national security.  Sound energy policies must be based on creativity and free enterprise.  These policies must acquire supplies from diverse sources.  Both the Executive and legislative branch ought to look to the private sector’s research and development to supply new sources of energy and harbor a conducive environment for the smooth flow of business free of extra regulations, mandates, subsidies, and directed research.

Americans appreciate the value of low energy costs and realize quickly that freedom, opportunity, and quality of life suffer when affordable energy supplies are threatened at home and worldwide.

The keys to energy success in the United States entails 1) Drilling off of the U.S. coast and in ANWAR and 2) Creating an environment conducive for businesses to pursue costly research and development programs to find alternative energy sources.

Defending the Home Front

September 11, 2001 proved that the United States was not invulnerable.  The world today will be endangered if the United States does not stand for liberty and freedom and defend itself and its allies.  The Iraq War is the primary front in the War on Terror.  The tyranny of Saddam’s dictatorship has ended and the people of Iraq now have the opportunity to transform their government and enjoy the liberties of a democracy and a free market system.  Only through hard work and discipline can the Iraqi government put themselves on the path to freedom.

The United States must stand strong and commit itself to being free, prosperous, and safe.  America is a national super-power that has global interests.  The United Stated must have a military that has the ability to act anywhere and anytime if the nation’s vital interests become endangered.  We can send an influential message to the rest of the world by maintaining a free and open society and a strong economy while defending the home front.

America must be committed to national security by building strong strategic defense systems, train and deploy combat forces that can fight conventional and un-conventional warfare, secure America’s borders, and win the war of ideas.

Value of Human Life

There are over 1.31 million abortions performed in the United States every year. Abortion destroys the child, harms the mother, and cheapens the value of life. We at Preserving Tomorrow believe that this scourge must end and govern our efforts accordingly.

American Leadership

The United States of America is a shining city on a hill.  Without American leadership in the international community the world will grow to be a dangerous and less-free world.  If a void is created, it will be filled by terrorism, anti-Americanism, growing global organizations with unchecked power (U.N.) and provincial conflicts that will threaten the peace and security of all nations.

As the freest nation on this planet, America must lead the way to liberty and prosperity.  In this tumultuous 21st century, America must overcome the ideological struggles against the surge of leftist populism, anti-American forces, and radical Islam

Education

Every American child should have the opportunity to receive a high-quality education.  Millions of children each year pass through America’s schools and do not receive a quality education, reducing their possibility to succeed in life, compete in a competitive economy, and maintain their responsibilities to a free society.

Preserving Tomorrow supports policies that move the control of education out of Washington D.C., and into the hands of families and local communities.  Families need to have greater control over the educational investments in their children, primarily to choose effective and safe schools for their children.  With the power in the hands of responsible parents, the educational system will become more competitive and lead to innovation and improvement.

The Environment

Preserving Tomorrow fully supports the “conservative” concept of being good stewards of the earth and leaving the earth better than when you found it.  However, prominent scientists around the world have successfully debunked the claim that global warming is a crisis.  The majority of scientists agree that the Earth’s climate is very complex and insufficiently understood to make an accurate forecast.

Religion

The Declaration of Independence made the United States one nation, and placed us under God.  The document invokes God four times as, “divine providence”, “supreme judge of the world”“, laws of nature and nature’s God,” and “Creator”.  Thomas Jefferson declared that the Declaration was an anthology of the American mind—a collective mind that looked to a higher power.

Preserving Tomorrow subscribes to George Washington’s view of religion.  “Of all the disposition and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports.”  Washington also called religion “pillars of human happiness” and props of the duties of men and citizens”.  Religion has always played a central role in the lives of American people and Preserving Tomorrow rejects the current interpretation of “separation of church and state”.  The original intent of the Founders was to keep the government away from the church, not keep the church away from the government.

Rule of Law

According to Alexander Hamilton in the Federalist Papers, the judiciary is intended to be the weakest branch of the government.  However, the judiciary has become hyper-active and assumed roles that it should not, such as legislating from the bench.  The American justice system is suffering from the existing judicial philosophy that politicizes the judicial branch.

Preserving Tomorrow desires to alter the “imperial judiciary” which seizes the powers that belong to the legislative and executive branches.  In order to derail the imperial judiciary we must restore the constitutional role of the courts, reverse the dangerous trend to make everything a crime, and to reform the civil justice system.

Entitlements

Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid will increase federal spending from twenty percent to thirty percent by 2035.  Entitlement or social insurance needs to be converted from subsidized benefits to all people, regardless of needs to a more secure and protective program.  Individuals must assume a greater role of personal responsibility through savings and insurance.  Elevating the level of personal responsibility will ensure a fiscally maintainable future and better opportunities and stewardship for future generations.

Healthcare

A free market, non-government controlled approach to make quality, affordable health insurance available to every American is possible. We must recognize the need for innovation and recognize the role of the states in leading health care reform rather than rely on a one-size-fits-all, government-run system. Through expansion and deregulation of the private health insurance market, healthcare costs can be decreased and millions more Americans can be ensured of affordable, quality, and private health care.
